12:00 pm – BASIC SWINGOUT CLASS –

The Swingout is Lindy Hop’s most signature move. In the Beginner Workshop we learned 3 basic types of Swingouts (Swingout, Lindy Circle, and Swingout from closed). If you have never heard of these things, or you simply forgot, don’t worry. We will be re-teaching these three movements, and focusing primarily on footwork. Once again, this class will be review. If you were unable to make the previous workshop, this hour long class will break everything down for you.

1:00 pm – SWINGOUT CONNECTION AND DYNAMICS –

Now that we have a full understanding of the footwork of the Swingout we will be able to explore some of the finer points. Having a comfortable and relaxed Swingout is key for increasing the longevity and speed of your dance. This class will primarily focus on exercises rather than moves. In fact, we will be working on just one move. The Swingout!

2:00 pm – HALF HOUR BREAK –

2:30 pm – SIX VS. EIGHT COUNT MOVEMENTS –

One of the most difficult things about this dance is that not all the figures have the same number of counts. This class will focus on transitioning between 6 and 8 count movements, and how to turn 6 count moves into 8 counts moves and visa versa. This class will be pretty move heavy, but a lot of the things that we learned in the connection class previously will really help with leading/following this moves.

3:30 pm – MORE PARTNER CHARLESTON –

Charleston is a great way to speed up your dance, and keep it more versatile in a appearance. In the beginner workshop we learned some basic Charleston patterns. In this class we will be looking at some more options and transitions that will build on our previous understanding.
